It's been a while since I wrote a blog, and I was reminded by my friend Christine that I hadn't written in a while! It's been 2 months since I last wrote a blog and I need to get much better. Thankfully, I've been keeping up with picture taking, so I'll do a recap of the last 2 months and then
(hopefully) get back to being a regular blogger :)
In the past 2 months, I've taken the NCE and
PASSED which is wonderful, since I studied so much for it! It's a relief to have that completed, and I'm slowly but surely working towards becoming a counselor. I've been job hunting as well, and the Lord is teaching me much about waiting for His timing as well as being patient throughout this process. I've had lots of time to pray and seek what the Lord would have for me in this next season of life.
Michael and I also got to go to Houston while his dad was having treatment at MD Anderson, which was wonderful and a great time to share Christ with others as well as spend time with Memaw and Papaw, who were also visiting.
Our Bible Fellowship class is in a softball league, and it's been fun to play with our friends! We have two cute babies in our class, Cade and Sophie, and I thought it would be fun to make "jerseys" for them as well. Cade is the cutest little boy on the planet, and I tried to get a picture of us in our matching jerseys, and these are the best I got!
Also, about a week ago, Michael said that he had a surprise for me. Eventually, I figured out that we were going to the zoo. This may not seem like a big surprise for an adult, but I was SO excited! The Dallas Zoo has a special koala exhibit, and they are my
favorite animal! I have loved them ever since I did a project on the cute little marsupials, and I collected koala things as a child. Anyone who knows me also knows that I am not a fan of animals in general, especially dogs and cats, so the fact that I have a fondness for an animal could be shocking. Maybe it's because I don't have to take care of them and I know I never will.
The next thing I documented was the rat killing that took place at the Fechner house. A few weeks ago, while Michael and I were staying at his parents house, I took their dog Lacey outside (I know, I know, I was forced to take care of it!) and something caught my eye. Then I saw a giant
RAT running towards the fence. Yes, a rat. And yes, it was giant.
A few days ago, Lacey killed a baby rat, which means that the one I saw was probably the mommy rat. This is probably the only time in my life I've ever been proud of an animal.
So, after dinner one night, all of Michael's family and I decided that we needed to put an end to the rat situation and try and kill them. There were holes that the rats were seen in and so we tried many different techniques to try and bring them out so that the boys could slaughter them, even pouring boiling water down the holes. Michael and Jonathan found weapons to kill them, and Grace had a golf club. We even left cheese, but after a while of trying, there were no rat killings.
Watch out rats, we WILL come back for you.
Lastly, a few days ago, my sweet husband made me pancakes for breakfast and brought them to me in bed! This may seem like a messy breakfast for the bed, but I don't like syrup so I just eat them plain, making it ideal! He's the best :)
I'll blog again
SOONER rather than
LATER. Love you all :)
